North Western Regional Health Authority


NHS TRUSTS PUBLIC CONSULTATION


An application from Calderstones Hospital to become a National Health Service Trust has been received by the Secretary of State for Health.


NHS Trusts remain as part of the National Health Service and are managed by their own board of directors rather than by a District Health Authority.


Reaional Health Authorities have a statutory duty to conduct public consultation on application for NHS Trust Status, copies of the application document are on display in local libraries or can be obtained from the North Western Regional Health Authority by telephoning 061 237 2399.


Comments are invited on the proposals which will be passed to the Secretary of State at the end of the consultation period, in order that a decision can be made on the


application.


All comments on the application should be sent to The Director of Planning, NWRHA, Gateway House Piccadilly South, Manchester. M60 7LP, and should be received no later than August 18th.
