Long-serving shopkeeper in the town dies at 82
ONE of the longest-serving shopkeepers in Ciilhoroe with -IK years' service and one of the last indentured apprentice shoe repairers in Lancashire, Mr Richard "Dick" Tattersall, has died in Kshton Court Nursing Home at the age

sisters Kutli, Nellie and daney still live, Mr Tattersall attended the town’s old council school. lie served bis time as a shoe repairer at a cob
bler's shop in Low Moor and then set up in business by himself in a shoe repair and leather goods shop, now demolished, at the t'halburn Koad end ol Y nrk Street, in 1038. He moved the 200 yards or so towards tlu- town
centre to Number 2 S h i rk Street in Hind to open a shop catering for model-making and artists' materials and retired in IbSl. Mr Tattersall and his wife Alice, who died in April
