national competition. The Taylors’ daughter Cheryl was married at the
church in June last year to Whalley man Adam Shack-
leton, amid lovely flowers and blossoming trees. “However, I felt sorry for early spring brides in a
stark, desolate churchyard which would snow on their videos and photographs,” added Mrs Taylor. She wrote a poem about her feelings and entered it
in a competition in the national “Gardener” maga zine, sponsored by a Dutch bulb specialist, entitled “Plant a churchyard campaign,” with the first prize 5,000 bulbs for any churchyard. Just before Christmas, Mrs Taylor was amazed to
