KINGS Arms moved into the semi-finals of the Aitken Shield after a hard-fought game against Calderstones. Marlin Sherliker opened

the scoring for the Kings Arms with a well taken shot from 15 yards. This spurred the hospital

side into action und they equalised soon after with a well taken header from Mick Wilson. With the play swinging

from end to end. Kings Anns scored next, going back into the lead through Damion Lowe. The pub s ide then added a thin! through substi tute David Burgess and the match looked over. However, Calderstones

refused to give the match up and scraped a goal back when a long range free-kick came back off the bar for a forward to smash the ball home. At 3-2 the match was still in

the balance, but Kings made sure of the result with a pen alty. awarded after Burgess had been bundled down. Dave Astin scored the goal and took K in g s A rm s in t o th e semi-finals.
