Cubs’ hat-trick Read Cub Scouts took


part in the Burnley Dis­ t r ic t six-a-side football competition at Barden Barn in an attempt to win the trophy for the third year running. Fourteen teams took


part and in the first round Read won two games and drew one to go forward to the quarter finals. In an e x c it in g game


with sudden-death penal­ ties, Read eventually won. The team qualified for the semi-final by beating St Cuthbert’s in a 1-0 penalty win. The final was against St
