THK inconsistent form of Whalley Wanderers con tinued when they played the team leading Division Three of the Hlacklnirn

Barnes was called upon to make several fine saves as the mid- field and defence began to bow
to the relentless pressure put 1 upon it in the second half. But just as thev appeared to I
have weathered the storm, Whalley dug their own graves by gifting two goals in a minute to Crown. The first came when the ball
was given away on the right, exposing the defence, and the |
second when Murray Walker crowned a nightmare of a Per- I formancc by turning the ball | into his own net. Whalley then caved in, with several players beginning to
look disinterested. Their huge following could not I
lift them and it came as no sur- I prise when Crown added two I
more. , It looks as if changes will be
made for Sunday afternoon’s cup lie at Bark Hull WMC for, with the exception of Barnes, Smith ami Tavlor, the team fell well short of its capabilities. Whalley Wanderers: Barnes,
