Altered tax disc on car

A MAN who altered an excise licence in order to use his car to go to work was fined £30 at Clitheroe. Philip Gowers (23), of

Warren Fold, Hurst Green, also admitted fraudulent use of the li cence, for which he was fined £40. Police saw Gowers

with the defendant led to further offences. For using the Land-

Rover without the test certificate, Gower was fined £10; £40 for not having an excise licence and £20 for the faulty tyre. He was ordered to pay £16 back duty. Mr John Lumley, de

fending, said that Gowers committed the offences because he needed the vehicle for that one clay to go to his employer's home to work. Gowers had not used the vehicle at any other time.
