ABOUT 20 residents and visitors attended the annual party given by the Trustees of Waddington Almshouses in the Boardroom. Among the guests was Mr Robert Parker of Browsholme Hall a direct descendant of the Robert Parker who founded the almshouses nearly 300 years


ago. He also visited the residents who could not attend the party. They had teas of


chatting with her friends. This weekend she is looking forward to celebrating her 96th birthday with a large family party. Also present were the Hospital Reader, Fr Ernest Smith, and warden Mrs


sandwiches, cakes and trifle taken to their homes. Oldest resident, Mrs Maria Most, who was at the party, was very much at home


Maureen Houghton. Ladies of the trustees served the tea and the men provided gifts for each person. Afterwards Mrs S. Ervine proposed a vote of thanks to the Trustees and
