Amazon Filters Strengthens UK Team with Two Key Appointments

One of Europe’s leading industrial filter manufacturers has made two key staff appointments to support its growth.

Amazon Filters welcomes Proposals Engineer Alex Lowther to its technical bid department and, to its UK sales team, Area Account Representative Tom Davies.

The pair’s arrival complements the 37-year-old company’s ongoing programme of investment in ‘quick and able’ manufacturing capacity and customer support.

This is designed to underpin its reach into global industries such as municipal water, food and beverage, chemicals and coatings, the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors, and pharmaceuticals.

Alex, who has a first class honours degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Portsmouth, was most recently an engineer at the industrial machinery manufacturer Parker Hannifin which specialises in motion and control technologies.

Based in Alton, Hampshire, his role involved providing solutions for the marine industry, specifically for defence purposes.

At Amazon Filters, Alex will help prepare technical bids for filtration projects across the company’s growing range of sectors, using both standard and non-standard housing designs.

He and colleagues in the proposals team are tasked with applying their industry knowledge to review customer requirements, offer a detailed design analysis and define the project scope.

This is followed by a breakdown of components, materials and equipment to complete the project along with an accurate cost estimate and timescale.

Alex, who is based at Amazon Filters’ production centre in Camberley, Surrey, said: “I am looking forward to working alongside fellow engineers and project managers at Amazon Filters, and at our partners and customers, so we can always meet project requirements and ensure a positive outcome.”

Tom has joined Amazon Filters with extensive sales experience in the food and beverage sectors.

He was previously an Account Manager at the West Midlands contract bottler Edwin Holdens Bottling before taking on a temporary telesales role at Amazon Filters in 2021.

Tom’s new responsibilities include supporting regional sales and market development. He reports directly to Head of UK Sales, Lisa Astbury.

Tom said: “Amazon Filters is widely recognised as a leading filter manufacturer that invests in its people, services and facilities.

“Sales and market development is key to the company’s growth plans and I’m thrilled to be on board and have the opportunity to play my part in achieving more success.”

Amazon Filters Managing Director Neil Pizzey said: “Both Alex and Tom bring excellent industry skills and experience to their roles with us.

“This is a great boost to our growth strategy and our services for new and existing customers across our expanding range of sectors.”
