We are really good at it and we have a lot of fun doing it. It’s really fun to fake fight. Our first scene back this season, we got to sor t of go at it again. And it’s just so not our personalities to be that spicy - so it’s fun. The f irst year we were very like, ‘Are you OK? I’m sor ry, I didn’t mean to yell at you like that.’ And then it just k ind of comes out of you and it feels fun to play mad.
So the dynamic has changed and evolved since the first season? Well, at this point,
four seasons in, our muscles have def initely strengthened in that depar tment.
The show always tries to be as current as possible and this season, as you mentioned, the topic is very much about AI and Deepfakes. How has AI etc. changed things for you in your life and your relationship with social media? Well, it’s a very unsettling thing that’s happening in the wor ld with AI. And it’s unclear what to do about it and how to control it, honestly. I t’s like a runaway train. All you can do is try to get a hold of as much as you can.
I get sent things f rom family and f r iends ask ing am I
promoting this product, did I make this commercial? And it’s so clear to me that it’s not me but even on f irst glance you understand why someone would think it’s you - but it’s not. And there are people out
there though that will 16
You look amazing. Season four of ‘The Morning Show’ – how does it feel to be launching this? I can’t believe it’s season four. It feels like we’ve been doing this for so long but because of all of the gaps of time, r ight? We’re really excited. Really good season.
You and Reese are starring and producing this together – what a gift this must be for you guys, after meeting 25 years ago on ‘Friends’? Oh, it’s a wonder ful thing to witness. I mean, we’ve grown up together and being able to see where we were when we began and what we’re doing today – I ’m very emotional about it. I t’s sweet.
What makes you so emotional? You know, this is a trick y business. We were so grateful just to get any job, let alone be here 25 years later. It’s quite special.
You’ve said about this season, it’s not just a return, it’s a reckoning, so how dramatic does it get in series 4? Oh wow, it just gets so dramatic it’s hard to…
On a scale of ten? I t would be above it. We’d hit 20. There’s a lot going on this season. There’s high stak es. There’s romance, AI, deep fakes, blackmail, lying, back stabbing, parental - meeting fathers. There is a father in there. My father.
The relationship between Alex and Bradley, they can be each other’s best friend then also get on each other’s nerves very quickly. How much fun is it to play with that dynamic?
