THREE MONTHS Three months before the big day and working with your stylist, start browsing magazines and website to see which styles will work best with your style your dress, veil and any hair accessories, even your ring!! Keep the images altogether and take your stylist on the journey with you to coach and advise you on the products and treatments needed in the preparation phase leading up to your wedding hair trial.

START YOUR SCALP CARE PROGRAMME. Do you suffer from dandruff or a dry or oily scalp? Or is your scalp sensitive or irritated? Then that can really bother you. In addition, the health of your scalp has a great influence on the quality of your hair. With a dry or oily scalp, your hair is often dry or greasy and no one wants that on their big day.

Mediceuticals' Scalp Therapies line has been specifically developed to treat various scalp problems, including dandruff, oily or dry scalp, and sensitive or irritated scalp. The line consists of technologically advanced products that target the specific causes of scalp problems and help return the hair and scalp to a healthy condition.

If you're short on time, try Morccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask. You

only need to leave it in for ten minutes and it'll leave your hair shiny and soft.

A trial with your hairdresser is a must. This means you both know what to expect on the day, how much time to allow and gives you a chance to experiment with a few styles, especially if you're going for an up-do. Go armed with the styles you like, your veil and any hair accessories – just as you would on the day.

TWO WEEKS Make sure that final cut and colour happens a couple of weeks before the wedding. Two weeks give plenty of time for your hair to adjust to the colour and cut – and keep any grey strands and split ends at bay.

ONE WEEK The final countdown is on! Confirm all your appointments with your hairdresser just to make sure it runs like clockwork on the day. Treat your hair to another hair mask too. Do it too close to the wedding and your hair may be too soft for your hairdresser to work with.

YOUR WEDDING DAY The day has finally arrived. First thing to do is think about what you wear for your hairdresser appointment – naturally!

Don't wear anything you have to take off over your head – if you have an elaborate do you don't want to mess it up. And remember, you'll leave your hairdressers with your veil and hair accessories in, or if the hair coach team are coming to you they will need some space to set up while you kick back.

h

ONE MONTH Well-nourished, healthy locks and healthy scalp don't just happen, so treat them to their own pamper session either on your own or as your wedding entourage at the salon. A hair mask will moisturise, repair and add shine, and will revitalize dull and lifeless hair leaving it feeling gorgeous. Try Davines Nounou which restores hydration and body to hair nourishing it in depth.

Make sure you take everything you need to the hairdressers and once you get there, sit back, relax and enjoy. It's also worth packing a few grips, styling products and anything else you may need to refresh your hairstyle into a small bag. These will come in handy at the reception if your locks need a little TLC.

POST WEDDING Remember to think about this too. A honeymoon to a sunny (or cold) climate can set your hair care routine back so make sure those appointments are in the diary as part of the wedding hair and scalp care package.

A final Irish wedding poem (some poetic licence taken)

May the road rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home And may the hand of a great hair coach always be near.

May green be the grass you walk on, May blue be the skies above you, May pure be the joys that surround you, May true be the hearts that love you.
