Like what? Secret recordings, recordings that the world hasn’t heard of her talking to them. Really special things. And also, just information that I hold close that I would never share because it’s too personal. But things that helped.
Tell us about working with Javier Bardem? Glorious. He is so talented. He’s such a great, great actor and I think he’s so good in the film and I’m so glad that I was able to be – his wife! [laughs].
Being a part of a Hollywood power couple, what resonated with you on this film with Lucille’s character? There were so many things I could relate to in her but I think a lot of people could relate to her when they were watching. You think she’s so far off there but that’s the genius of Sorkin’s writing, is that he’s made this woman who you kind of admire and who inspires you but you feel her, she’s vulnerable, she’s a go-getter, I love saying, ‘She’s the smartest person in the room’ and she doesn’t apologise
for that - and I love that. And the hardest worker too!
What would you say is at the very core of this movie? Love. Love in all its sort of complication and a love story where peo- ple don’t have to stay together forever to actually have a success- ful relationship. And I think Desi and Lucy, they didn’t make it to the very end of their lives together but boy, they made something beautiful together. They made two beautiful children, they made this show, they created a legacy and they trailblazed for others to follow. And that’s a successful relationship.
What is the secret to your long-lasting relationship to Keith [Urban]? Just love. I just really like him and I love him – I got both! Yeah.
Finally, you look amazing, what are you wearing? I’m wearing an Armani dress that looks like it would be really uncomfortable but it’s super comfortable. And it’s tulle! Who doesn’t like a bit of tulle?
