Rudell the Jewellers has long been a name synonymous with quality and service. As retailers of Rolex at the company’s Wolverhampton store, they are delighted to once again have been awarded accreditation for servicing these prestigious watches. Live 24-Seven talks to managing director Jon Weston about this latest accolade.
Congratulations on your latest accreditation. What does this actually mean for your business? As Rolex grows so does our business. With the sales growth we are currently experiencing, the need for after sales service grows too, therefore it is important that we can support clients now and in the future. Becoming a Rolex Authorised Service Centre means that we can deliver the levels of after sales service that a Rolex client would expect when investing in such a luxurious timepiece. It’s a real accolade for us and means that Rolex trust us to deliver on their behalf, the exceptionally high level of service well into the future.
How long have you been a supplier and approved service centre for Rolex? Rudell became an official Rolex retailer in the 1960s and we have enjoyed a long and mutually beneficial relationship with them ever since. We operated a Rolex accredited workshop in Wolverhampton in 2007. This year we were rewarded with the Rolex Authorised Service Centre plaque.
How many of your team are able/qualified to do the Rolex servicing? We currently have one watchmaker, Martin Butcher, who is qualified to carry out servicing on Rolex watches. We plan to recruit another watchmaker so that we can deliver a fast, efficient but most importantly, an exemplary standard of in-house Rolex service.
You have recently had a new workshop at the Wolverhampton store. What improvements have you made there? Yes, the last two years have been very exciting for us. Not only have we doubled the size of the ground floor showroom, we have also opened a new workshop which is fitted out with the very latest in technology and Rolex approved equipment. Moving the workshop into the new premises has given our watchmaker much more space and has allowed us to ‘future proof’ by providing room for the second watchmaker along with a separate cleaning room and polishing room.
What sort of work can you do there? As a Rolex Authorised Service Centre , we can carry out all Rolex repairs and service work - from bracelet adjustments to complete service and overhaul. We have invested heavily in providing our watchmaker, Martin, with all the necessary equipment and training to provide the same level of service that a client would expect if they were to send their watch to Rolex Geneva themselves.
