Several of Joe’s songs have been covered by the likes of guitar-genius Amos Garrett, crooner Noel Harrison and the characters of Sesame Street. In 1988 the Anthem label released Joe’s Born
to Cuddle. Also in 1988, he appeared in an episode of the Sharon, Lois & Bram's Elephant Show titled "Sunday in the Park". Around this period, a music video for a novelty song he recorded, "Dance with Joe", received extensive airplay on Much Music.
