DESIGNS TO INSPIRE
From a colourful Chelsea apartment to a country house in Long Island, the projects featured in this issue are sure to spark the imagination: pick up some ideas on how to get the look
THE HALLWAY To make a good first impression be brave with colour. As this stunning hallway by Kit
Kemp proves, sunshine yellow packs a punch. Line the walls with Pierre Frey’s ‘Sirenes’ fabric, printed on cotton canvas and linen, but keep it functional with ‘Siberian Fox’ engineered white oak boards from Siberian Flooring. Position a hand carved mirror in late 18th century style by Paolo Moschino for Nicholas Haslam Ltd above a ‘Richter’ chest of drawers from Julian Chichester. Overhead a clear ‘Adam Hall’ lantern from Vaughan adds illumination. Keep your keys in a ‘Hollies’ trays from Arteriors.
THE BEDROOM Salvesen Graham specialises in curating classic interiors with a twist, juxtaposing antiques
with contemporary pieces to create timeless schemes. To get the look, start with a ‘Scallop’ rug, which the dynamic duo created in collaboration with Jennifer Manners Design. Layers of pattern and colour add a playful feel so upholster a David Seyfried armchair with Romo’s ‘Kemble’ check fabric in rose quartz. Cover the headboard in ‘Zanzibar’ from Peter Dunham at Tissus d ’Hélène, and introduce a lattice motif using the ‘Castello embroidered border from Samuel & Sons. The ‘Daffodil’ fabric from Morris & Co, ‘Fleur de Corai’ wallcovering from Pierre Frey and the ‘Avebury’ table lamp add vibrancy and verve.
