STATE FOCUS | GEORGIA
Wisdom, Justice, Moderation
With over half the state covered in pine trees and more commercial forestland than any other state, it's no wonder Georgia is known for its lumber, resins, and turpentine, which all come from trees. It’s also known for its peaches, nicknamed “The Peach State” and is home to Coca-Cola, not to mention one of the leading producers of peanuts, pecans, and Vidalia onions.
Its capital city Atlanta hosts the Georgia Aquarium and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, dedicated to the African-American leader’s life and times. Not forgetting the city of Savannah, with its 18th- and 19th-century architecture and leafy public squares. Augusta hosts the Masters golf tournament.
