number of years. During that time, it has seen the benefits of monitoring telematics for JBT AeroTech customers. From the cab of the boarding bridge, we detected images of the auto-level arm not being deployed by the bridge operators. Not deploying the auto-level wheel can result in significant damage


to the aircraft door with repairs ranging from $100,000 to $1m depending on severity. It is an operator error that can be avoided with iOPS telematics. From a study done in Mexico City, we were able to help identify a serious waste of company money and a source of unnecessary air pollution. Certain types of ground support equipment were left idling for 3.5 to 5.0 hours per day. This amounts to roughly $10,000 year per vehicle in wasted fuel burn plus the unwanted carbon-based pollutants. JBT AeroTech can identify operator errors and often correct them remotely. This facilitates a prompt aircraft turn, which saves fuel, improves system-wide efficiencies, and enhances the publics travel experience. Often bridge operators will trip an over-travel fault or some other alarm on the boarding bridge. If unsure of what to do, the operator will call for maintenance, which results in delays at the gate and time wasting. Many times, these
