nsuring the efficacy of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals remains a formidable challenge in an industry where precision and control are paramount. The integrity of these products depends on maintaining strict environmental conditions throughout the supply chain, from manufacturing facilities to the patient’s hand. Any deviation from the required temperature can lead to product degradation, compromising both safety and effectiveness. The industry has long grappled with the complexities of temperature compliance, but recent advancements in technology, coupled with lessons from global disruptions, have significantly reshaped how pharmaceutical logistics are managed. Jyot Singh, founder and CEO of RTS Labs, underscores the importance of investing in robust infrastructure to uphold temperature compliance. “Temperature compliance is an enduring challenge,” he says. “It’s best accomplished with adequate investment

in infrastructure such as a well-connected Internet of Things (IoT) network, backed up with AI and machine learning algorithms and applications.” These technologies enable real-time detection of environmental factors such as humidity, temperature fluctuations, and airflow conditions across the entire logistics chain. From warehouses and storage facilities to refrigerated containers and transport vehicles, sensors collect and process vast amounts of data, allowing companies to make swift, informed decisions to mitigate risks. Singh explains that “real-time monitoring is crucial to the visibility and control of fragile products and cargo – such as temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals.” The pharmaceutical industry is becoming increasingly reliant on digital transformation to improve efficiency and mitigate risks. Blockchain technology is also emerging as a valuable tool, offering secure and immutable records of temperature data at every stage of transportation. This ensures full transparency and prevents falsification of
