120 LIGHT + TECH
WINNER Serif / Kuzco Lighting
Serif shows how the LED has liberated light fittings from the more conventional tropes. The design connects differently sized luminous rings with triangular coaxial connections. Changing according to the viewing angle, the circular luminous elements twist around their own axis, turning the circles into ellipses. With a black powder-coated body and frosted silicone diffuser, Serif has a 57W source (3000K, 90CRI, with other CT options) and an output of 4,845lm. ‘Due to the well-balanced movement of its luminous elements, this extraordinary lighting fixture fascinates the beholder time and again,’ said the jury.

Slim in Motion / Licht Cube To fully appreciate the different configurations of Slim in Motion it is probably best to watch it on video. The luminaire comprises three illuminated rings, which can sit concentrically on one plane just below the ceiling, drop down to form a three-layer chandelier, or incline at different angles. The jury said that it was ‘characterised by an innovative
design that offers a high quality of use and functionality’.
Controlled by a special app (the technical unit is discreetly hidden in the ceiling), each ring light is suspended on three filigree steel ropes and is dimmable, while the colour temperature options range from 2,700K to 6,000K. The number of luminaires, their sizes and surfaces are freely configurable.

Wire Medusa / Kabo and Pydo With a form inspired by a classic chandelier, Wire Medusa plays with light and shadow effects, especially when viewed from different angles. The luminaire body is made of rectangular bent wire, comes in different colours (including blue, white and orange) and is available in two lengths. ‘Wire Medusa owes its impressive lighting effects and concise room-defining appeal to an original design concept,’ commented the judges.
