AT THE TIME of writing, we’re in the middle of judging your fabulous projects for the FX Awards, so the shortlist will be posted online before long. It’s reassuring that the industry has bounced back with all sorts of events in September and October, from exhibitions to open house and showroom parties.


We have a feast for you in this bumper issue with an introduction to the work of Sonia Solicari, director of the Museum of the Home – formerly known as the Geffrye Museum – to celebrate the long- awaited opening of the public gallery designed by Wright & Wright. We feel that sometimes it’s good to involve clients in FX for successful projects like this and I hope you enjoy hearing Solicari’s vision for the future of the new museum. Otherwise, traditionally we would be off to Orgatec in Cologne – but not this year with the lingering Covid trouble of travelling, although we do have a supplement from Cathy Hayward, who courts the latest trends in office design. Tis is in addition to Jill Entwistle’s specialist lighting supplement, so we really do have a double specialist focus for you in this issue. It’s really heartening to see our industry bounce back with news,


events and optimism. Our FX Awards shortlist will be posted online very shortly, so really hope that we can celebrate with you! See you soon.
