Naked Kitchens is expanding its geographic reach, investing in latest technology and growing the bottom line. Mike Jeffree reports
The kitchen market has been a tough place to be in recent years, with multiple factors shaking consumer confidence. Naked Kitchens fully acknowledges this, but despite the pressures, it has continued to grow and evolve. market is in great shape, it is genuinely tough out there, and we have seen a number of businesses go into administration over the past year,” said Alex. “However, we’ve found ourselves in a fortunate position as we have been bucking the trend by adapting, innovating and elevating our offering rapidly. The group grew by around 25% last year, which we are very proud of.” The company, which was started by Alex’s parents Jamie and Design Director Jayne Everett, began by making worktops. It then spread its wings into bespoke kitchen production and today it manufactures out of two converted aircraft hangars near Fakenham in Norfolk. From the outset Naked Kitchens has sought to differentiate itself in the marketplace. Testament to this a couple of years ago, one of its uniquely characterful adverts doubled down on the company’s aeronautical connection and featured a real life vintage DeHavilland Vampire jet fighter in one of its kitchens. Recently, the company has moved on again, turning its kitchen design and production skills, blending traditional craft work with high-tech, automated manufacture, to other areas of the home. “We have developed two distinct strands that sit alongside our core kitchen offer: Naked Designs, which extends our
