SAFETY AND SUSTAINABILITY AT THE CORE
Select’s engineering input has driven several key safety enhancements in the CTL702-32. The crane’s jib heel connection has been redesigned to replace the previous pin with a smaller, more manageable captive pin leading to reduced manual handling risks and improved installation operative accessibility.
The crane can be split down into components weighing nine tonnes or less, allowing another CTL702-32 to dismantle it from a radius of approximately 59 metres. This modularity reduces the mobile crane requirements and enables recovery derrick cranes to complete dismantling operations. An approach that improves sustainability and required a smaller tower crane, which then had to be removed by a derrick, creating a complex and resource- heavy process. The CTL702-32 negates this requirement.
Through optimised cable management, all cables are have been carefully assessed, and every potential falling object has either been eliminated, securely tethered, or fully captivated. These measures are part of a proactive approach to maintaining a safe working environment and minimising the risk of falling objects.
