NEW FLAT-TOP FROM TEREX Terex Tower Cranes has launched the CTT 152-6 flat top – an extension to its City Class range. There are two winch options available, 18 kW and 22 kW, providing lifting speeds of up to 104 m/ min. The CTT 152-6 has a maximum capacity of six tonnes with a tip load of 1.7 t or 1.91 t when using Terex Power Plus. It comes Terex’s T-Torque slewing
system and also its Power Match (TPM) system, designed to reduce electric power consumption. The tower crane has a 150 mt class capacity and is compliant with EN14439-Rev1 safety regulations. The crane’s jib can be configured between 25 m to 60 m, while freestanding tower heights of up to 61.2m are possible. Design enhancements include a pinned connection between the jib and slewing unit, along with the elimination of the counterjib ballast basket. NEW LUFFERS FROM POTAIN Wisconsin, USA-headquartered crane manufacturer Manitowoc has launched the all-new Potain MCR 305 luffing jib tower crane, which was jointly developed by French and Chinese engineers. The crane is being manufactured at the Manitowoc factory in Zhangjiagang, China, and will be sold across Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. The new Potain MCR 305 can reach a height of 190 m with almost half the anchorage points required by similar models, says Manitowoc. Requiring fewer anchorage points, the company says, means more efficient assembly and less expense for contractors – saving time on the tight schedules.
The crane also has a smaller out-
of-service radius optimising space on jobsites. According to Manitowoc lowering the out-of-service radius allows contractors to place more cranes on constrained jobsites. Two versions of the crane are available: one with a maximum capacity of 20 t and a 3.1 t tip load with a 60 m jib. The other with a maximum capacity of 25 t and a 3 t tip load with the same 60 m jib. There are multiple winch options, depending on customer preference, including HPL (High-Performance Lifting) options with up to 1,200 m of wire rope available. Manitowoc has also launched the
fall reeving. It has a maximum capacity of 32 t when configured for two-fall operation, while with one-fall it’s 17.5 t. The maximum jib length is 65 m, and a maximum tip load of 6.4 t at 65 m is available. Also new from Manitowoc is the MR 309 and MR 329. See news p10 for more details on these cranes.
