RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION Ӏ SECTOR REPORT

Tele-mobile Renovates Roskilde

Danish scaffolding company ASA Stillads Service ApS has bought a 16 tonne Sennebogen 613 mobile telescopic crane to use on a major renovation project in Roskilde, west of Copenhagen. “There is a lot of manual handling in scaffolding erection, and I wanted to limit that as much as possible,” said owner Henrik Jessen. "With the Sennebogen we can lift scaffolding parts, but also building materials

for other trades, and thus save time and effort. And being mobile and on wheels it can be moved flexibly and quickly and be used as well for pick and carry tasks. “With four-wheel drive it has proved extremely manoeuvrable. For heavy lifting

work, it can be set up quickly and easily on its outriggers, and the elevating cab offers a particularly good view of the load. I had considered a telescopic loader, but that is not the right solution for us as a scaffolding company. I think that especially for larger construction sites with longer-term projects, a mobile crane makes the most sense.” Over the next three-and-a-half years the Sennebogen will be used on the project for the replacement of roofs, balconies, windows and facade parts.

j The second model, the Igo T 99, is a six-tonne-capacity telescopic self-erecting crane which can carry 1.2 t at 48m jib end; hook height with horizontal boom position is up to 38.5m. The main innovation here is the ‘Smart Set-up’ control system. Via radio remote control it

represents every step of assembly, telescoping and disassembly, so simplifying and securing set-up work. The fitter is guided step by step through the assembly menu via a 2.4-inch colour screen on the transmitter of the radio remote control.

“Self-erectors are sold

throughout Europe, though the main markets remain Germany, France and Italy,” says Leullier. “They handle construction material on site, concrete buckets, prefab elements, scaffolding elements, and roof tiles. Whether
