JASO Industrial Cranes takes part in an ambitious project to double the size of Siemens Gamesa’s factory thanks to the rapid development of the offshore wind industry

ASO Industrial Cranes has partnered with Siemens Gamesa to supply cranes, cantilever cranes and a semi-gantry to its
factory in Hull, the largest offshore wind manufacturing facility in the UK.
The company is currently expanding and
will double its size to 77,600 square meters by 2023, with the aim of manufacturing new generation blades, of a larger size. JASO Industrial Cranes will participate in this ambitious project with the design,
production, supply, assembly and commissioning of: 6 EOT cranes of 90 tons and 39.9 metre span; 2 EOT cranes of 25 tons and 21.8 metre span; 2 EOT cranes of 63 tons and 36.2 metre span; 20 cantilever cranes of 2.5 tons and 11.6 metre span and 1 semi-gantry of 4 tons and 5.9 m span. Siemens Gamesa will expand its
offshore blade factory by 41,600 square meters, more than doubling the size of the manufacturing facilities, investing £186m in the project, creating 200 jobs to the approximately 1,000 person-workforce already in place. “Since our offshore blade factory opened in Hull in 2016, Siemens Gamesa has proudly served as the catalyst for the powerful growth the area has seen.
