R&M expands into the food process industry suppling 18 QX 10 ton bridge cranes and runways to FPS Canada

&M Materials Handling and its master distributor Norelco have supplied 18 QX 10 ton bridge cranes and


runways to Food Process Solutions (FPS) in Canada, a rapidly expanding company that specialises in the design and manufacture of large refrigeration vessels for the food processing industry worldwide. Norelco was tasked with providing the lifting capacity at FPS’s new 80,000 sq ft facility in Richmond, British Columbia, which increases the company’s production area by 80% with a 50% uplift in capacity anticipated once fully utilised. All 18 cranes and runways have


now been installed to drive FPS’s enhanced manufacturing capacity. Norelco designed, manufactured and installed complete crane systems in collaboration with the building engineer to incorporate the crane runways into the building. For R&M and Norelco, the food


processing industry is one which offers lots of opportunity. “Presently, FPS is our only customer


in the food process industry. However, this is a sector that is showing signs for significant growth especially due to the ever-expanding global population’s
