with the middle passenger seat folding down into a desk, the base of which houses a useful slot to store a laptop3.

A 10in touchscreen is standard across the Master line-up and enables the OpenR Link multimedia system that includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity4. OpenR Link with Google built-in5 is available as an option. It includes Google Maps, the Google Play App catalogue and voice-controlled Google Assistant.

For Master E-Tech, an Electric Route Planner can increase vehicle uptime for businesses by identifying charging stations, setting charging times and optimising battery use.

A further function of OpenR Link is its ability to integrate controls for conversion equipment into the multimedia system, allowing the driver to operate the equipment from the touchscreen. The cabin offers 135 litres of storage space, a 25% increase on the outgoing Master. The van is endowed with up to 20 driver assistance systems6 to protect occupants, pedestrians and other road users, including active emergency braking, lane departure warning and driver attention and drowsiness alert.

Wedding practicality with sophistication, this accomplished electric van comes with a price tag starting from £37,5007, excluding VAT and including the £5,000 Plug-in Van Grant8, undercutting its rivals to make new Master

E-Tech a compelling proposition within the UK’s large electric van market.

Master E-Tech is ably backed up by its smaller siblings Trafic E-Tech medium van and the compact Kangoo E-Tech.

The former comes with a 90kW (122hp) electric motor and 52kWh battery delivering up to a 183 mile range on the WLTP cycle9. Load spaces range from 5.8m3 to 8.9m3,10 and payload goes up to 1.2-tonnes11. Trafic E-Tech is also offered with a high roof version, one of the only in the medium EV segment. An 8in touchscreen enables smartphone integration plus navigation, EV route planner and remote battery management. ADAS includes lane departure warning, optional blind spot monitoring and parking sensors.

Kangoo E-Tech offers up to 4.2m3 load volume and payload of 600 to 764kg12 with a WLTP range of up to 186 miles13 from a 45kWh battery combined with 121hp electric motor. DC rapid charging at up to 75kW allows for a quick boost on the road.
