WELCOME T

here have been a few changes since our last edition, not least, a new publishing and events partner.

In this edition, we pay tribute to Jason Andrews and Maureen Delaney of Profile Publishing as they bow out and we welcome the PharmacyShows team of Richard and Amy Stephenson.

2025 started with a bang when the NI Pharmacy Show arrived in Newtownabbey on Wednesday 15th January. Corr’s Corner was buzzing with Contractors and Pharmacists interacting with the 30 exhibitors and attending break-out sessions from NPA and UCA-NI, not to mention catching up with friends and colleagues.

Next up is the Pharmacy in Focus Awards on Saturday 29th March in the Crowne Plaza Hotel and we are all looking forward to welcoming the Health Minister, Mike Nesbitt, who will be joining

Work will start soon with PharmacyShows to develop new events and networking opportunities. It is important that we provide events that will be of tangible benefit to you, so please get in touch if you have any ideas or suggestions.

UCA-NI has also been working on a variety of issues concerning Community Pharmacy. As ever, get in touch if you need help, advice or support. Check out our website, www.ucani.co.uk, for information on how we Support, Represent and Communicate on your behalf.

BUSINESS SUPPORT

Customs Declarations and the Windsor Framework At the NI Pharmacy Show, the UCA-NI talk focussed on customs declarations and the impact of the Windsor Framework. UCA-NI is following up on a number of issues highlighted by pharmacies mainly around completing supplementary declarations for a small number of products including gluten-free bread. We are currently working on a solution and more information will be made available to pharmacies soon.

Carmel Crawford of HMRC has provided information on the simplified processes available to businesses bringing goods into NI - see page 16 for details. Any questions or concerns, please get in contact with UCA on 028 9065 6576 or email office@ucani.co.uk
