Through dedicated pharmacy-led sessions, she has improved health literacy, patient confidence and trust in pharmacy services. Despite workforce and funding challenges, Elaine prioritises patient care, even securing locum cover to attend sessions. Her work has transformed lives, with 100% of participants now confident in seeking pharmacy support. By bridging healthcare gaps in a deprived community, Elaine has created a lasting impact on public health and wellbeing.

Under Siobhan McNulty’s leadership, Melvin Pharmacy has excelled in collaborative healthcare initiatives, forging strong partnerships to address pressing community health needs. Their work with Women’s Aid raised awareness about domestic abuse and coercive control, positioning the pharmacy as a trusted support hub. Through hormone health events and wellness days, they provided expert-led education on key health issues. Despite financial pressures, they secured funding to purchase a blood testing machine enabling the Pharmacy to launch a blood screening service - expanding local healthcare access. Their GP-endorsed weight management programme has delivered measurable patient success, showcasing Melvin Pharmacy’s commitment to innovative, patient- focused care through strong community partnerships.
