LED lighting technology enables educational facilities to be optimised to accommodate large spaces and assembly halls and the range of different indoor sports activities, as well as a multitude of additional functions within the school calendar.


The lighting here will deliver significant cost savings compared to the traditional alternative for sports halls; being linear fluorescent with wire guards, or the high intensity discharge light sources which has been consigned to the history books. Choosing the right lighting in these spaces can be particularly challenging as a Main Hall is required to serve a variety of different uses. Glare control and adequate illuminance on the vertical combined with good uniformity are necessities in this application. By using LED technology benefits of long-life, typically an operating life 4 times that of traditional light sources, so avoiding the costly necessity and inconvenience of lamp maintenance can be realised.
