engagement opportunities. We even had two alumni representing their companies at the event— Morgan Brown ’13, of EY and Harrison Hood ’15 from Frazier Deeter.

Morgan shared, “For me, as an alumnus and representative of EY, being able to meet and connect with students from all backgrounds, develop relationships with faculty, and network with other professionals is an experience unique to Meet the Firms. CBT LEADERSHIP COUNCIL WELCOMES NEW CHAIR

The College of Business & Technology depends on its Leadership Council to advance the College’s strategic priorities by aligning leadership engagement, advocacy, and philanthropy in support of transformational initiatives. The Council provides strategic insight, champions innovation across emerging academic programs, and helps secure resources that enhance student success, faculty excellence, and the long-term impact and visibility of the College. We are delighted to welcome Michael E. Giles as our new chair for 2026. Mike is a partner at PwC in Charlotte, where he focuses primarily on internal audit and business advisory services provided to clients in the retail,

manufacturing and financial services industries. In addition to supporting his clients, Mike is also a partner recruiting champion, connecting Winthrop’s students with internship and job opportunities at PwC. His dedication to his clients and the community makes him an incredible asset for the College! Mike and his wife Sheronda are the proud parents of three children, Aria, Chase, and Grayson.

“Giving back is woven into my DNA, and I have a particular passion for opportunities that allow me to coach or mentor others. Taking on this leadership role gives me a chance to go beyond helping Winthrop students one-on-one. Through my work on the Leadership Council, I hope to ensure that the CBT has the resources, insights, and support required to continue equipping students with skills and experiences that help them stand out as they launch their careers.”
