TEN YEARS’ JAIL FOR BOLTON CABBIE WHO PICKED UP WOMAN THEN RAPED HER IN HIS CAB
A taxi driver was been sentenced to 10 years in prison on Friday 30 August, for raping a female passenger in 2020. Dediki Mosi, 37, was found guilty after a trial of rape, sexual assault, and sexual assault by penetration following a trial at Manchester Crown Court. The incident occurred on Septem- ber 19, 2020, when the 29-year-old victim called a taxi to take her home from a night out with
friends in Wigan. Mosi, from Breight- met, Bolton, who was the driver, assaulted and raped the woman inside his car. He was arrested on suspicion of rape in October 2020. When interviewed by detectives, Mosi said ‘what rape?’ and also said that he used to have a working dash cam in his car, but
on the night of the rape it was broken.” Detectives investigating the case branded Mosi “a sexual predator” and described his actions as “monstrous” praising the victim’s bravery for coming forward. “Mosi spotted his victim and took advantage of her,” said Detective Constable Sally-Anne Skellern. “He should have been the person who got her home safely, instead he raped her in his taxi.”

A Norwich taxi driver has been jailed after sexually assaulting three women in his vehicle. Alexandru Tapurin, 36, admitted to three counts of sexual assault relating to three victims between 19 and 22 January 2024. The first victim had been out in a city pub and was being taken home in Tapurin’s vehicle in the early hours of 20 January when he
repeatedly asked her for sex, and forced her to engage in sexual activity. Later that night the second victim booked a taxi via an app and was collected in the city centre by Tapurin just before midnight. During the journey he pulled into

A private hire driver who raped a 16-year-old girl has been sentenced to nine years in prison. Shaun Meenan attacked the teenager in his vehicle and then in her home after claiming he needed the toilet. The 60-year-old was convicted of the rape which took place in Dumbarton in April 2023 and was

sentenced on 24 September. Lord Colbeck of the High Court in Glasgow told Meenan that he had “taken advantage” of the girl in “the most appalling fashion.” The judge placed Meenan on the sex offenders list indefinitely. Meenan, who continues to deny the charges, was also banned from approaching or contacting the girl.

When they reached her destination he again made unwanted advances both physically and verbally telling his victim ‘I’ll see you again,’ as she got out of the car. Appearing at Norwich Crown Court for sentencing on 6 Septem- ber Tapurin was jailed for 21 months. He was also issued with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the sex offenders’ register. DS Ricki Peake said: “For these women to find themselves in a vehicle with someone they should be able to trust is terrifying and a huge breach of trust. I commend the victims for their bravery and strength in coming forward.”
