WAKEFIELD PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLE ATTACKED WITH BRICKS WHILST PASSENGER ON BOARD


A Wakefield PHV has been attacked with bricks whilst there was a passenger on board. The driver who works for Action Cars said he was near Monkhill railway station in Pontefract, when


kids who were hiding behind trees suddenly starting throwing bricks at his vehicle. Thankfully driver and passenger were unharmed but both were badly shaken by the attack.


JOHNSTONE TAXI FIRMS OFFER REWARD AFTER VANDALISM SPREE


Two Johnstone taxi companies have united in a bid to catch those responsible for a recent spate of vandalism targeting their vehicles. Alpha Taxis Johnstone and Johnstone TOA Taxis are offering a financial reward for information leading to


the arrest and


conviction of the culprits. Windows have been smashed, and personal belongings stolen. A statement was posted to their social media on 18 September


which stated: “As you will all be aware there has been a recent series of attacks on taxis across the area whereby the windows have been smashed and items removed from inside the vehicles. “This has caused a significant amount of distress to the drivers involved and has cost a lot of money in repairing the damage along with a significant loss of earnings to our drivers. “We would like to advise everyone


that none of our drivers leave anything of any value within their vehicles, this includes money! “Both Alpha Taxis and Johnstone TOA are now prepared to offer a financial reward for the successful apprehension and subsequent conviction of the individual (s) involved in this spate of attacks. “Should you have details of who is / has been responsible then please get in touch with the taxi office and ask for the office manager.”


BOLTON PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER TARGETED IN SECOND ACID ATTACK


A local PHV driver has been left shaken and facing financial hard- ship after his car was attacked with a corrosive substance

second time in just a few months. Mazhar Iqbal, who has lived in the Bolton area for over two decades, had his previous vehicle ruined in May when it was doused with paint stripper. Despite extensive police investi- gations, the culprit was never identified and Mazhar had to buy a new vehicle at the cost of £13,000.
