THE UK TAXI INDUSTRY

I mentioned earlier that we were first interested in iCabbi as a channel to market for our vehicles. We have spent a lot of time developing a car bundle that offers significant value to the fleet owner and taxi driver, and I’m delighted this has now launched. There are seven cars on offer, with extremely competitive pricing, service maintenance and tyre

options, and an

extended warranty designed specifically for taxi usage. Darragh Hanrahan is leading this for iCabbi and is already shipping cars out in volume. When the offer is right it’s right. And we intend to expand this offer in all our markets, USA included.

Q A

We see iCabbi has launched a new product, Move AI. Can you tell us about this?

Move AI is an exciting new development for the iCabbi platform, designed to make way for the next generation of taxi

companies - that is, taxi companies which do more than just traditional taxi work. Medical transportation, student transport, shuttles, coaches, buses, deliveries, any mobility scenario really, is enabled by Move AI., following our recent acquisition of the Moovex company. It facilitates, ridesharing, grouped and linked trips so that multiple individual bookings can be catered for by one journey.

Move AI has extremely sophisticated route optimisation capabilities, allowing thousands of trips to be assigned into the most efficient plan possible in seconds. Move AI launched in North America earlier this year and will come to the UK soon. Right now there is a consultation with the UK market on product fit. There is a lot of interest, as you can imagine.

Q

iCabbi has grown in size since Renault Group has been involved. You are in many more markets. How do you balance this

expansion with continued support for the UK market?

PHTM JULY 2024 A

Expansion is a natural course for an innovative technology company. Fleets from all over the world have heard of how

powerful the platform is and want it for themselves. This brings new revenue which in turn is reinvested into the product itself. The iCabbi Research & Development team comprises over 100 individuals - no competitor has anything close to this - and also works closely with Renault Digital, led by Pierre Houlès, the deputy CIO of Renault Group and CTO of Mobilize. We are thus leveraging Renault to support our innovation and time to market. This is the win-win situation we’re pushing to its limits, on a daily basis. So, ultimately, expansion is a good thing for all customers, new and old, as it enables the product to evolve.

The UK market is considered our home market for iCabbi. We are very committed to it. The Taxi Alliance, led by CEO Richard Smith, ensures a single focus for the UK and Irish customer base and is performing very well in terms of new business and retention. We are here for the long run.
