POLICE INVESTIGATE AFTER WOMAN LOCKED IN TAXI AFTER FARE DISPUTE IN AMERSHAM
A woman in her 20s was left terrified after a taxi driver locked her inside the vehicle following a disagreement over the fare. The incident occurred on Oakfield Corner, Hill Avenue, Amersham, around 4:15pm on 22 December. The woman had entered the silver saloon car, believed to be a Mercedes, near NatWest Bank. According to Thames Valley Police,
a dispute arose between the woman and the driver regarding the cost of the journey.
When the passenger decided to exit the taxi and take the bus instead, the driver locked the doors and refused to let her out. “This was a frightening incident for the victim, who despite her ordeal, was not injured,” said Investigating Officer PC Milla Thomson from
Aylesbury police station. The woman was eventually released from the vehicle after a crowd gathered around the taxi. The driver then sped away. Police are appealing to witnesses, particularly those who formed the crowd or assisted the victim after the incident.
The incident is being investigated as a case of false imprisonment.

platform EncroChat. The gang was active from 2019 to 2020, and sourced large amounts of cocaine and chemicals used to produce amphetamine. “Chefs” within the network, including Michal Stanislawczuk (“Sizabelarm,” “Polishshaman”) and David Brierley (“Kingchef-uk”), oversaw drug production at locations in Leeds as well as Bradford. Pervez played a crucial role in transporting drugs and vast sums of cash across the region, including deliveries of cocaine to high-level customer Daryll Hall in County Durham. Hall, sentenced to 15 years in his absence after absconding, received kilos of diluted cocaine from Pervez. Stanislawczuk was jailed for 12 years for his involvement in drug production, including a failed attempt to extract cocaine from 37 litres of oil. Brierley,
the amphetamine
producer, received a 12-year and six-month sentence.
