Yes, there are more IIMS online

Zoom seminars still to come The recent online seminar on Report Writing held last month attracted nearly 50 delegates and the one on moisture meters and osmosis presented by Nigel Clegg was equally popular too. Copies of these presentations and the other broadcast over recent months are available to purchase at https://bit.ly/2Ssv6Td. IIMS is committed to carrying on with its series of online seminars, which have been well attended and proved popular in recent weeks.

Remember, if you are not able to attend for whatever reason, you can register to purchase a video of the presentation for watching at a later time to suit you. Anyone can join IIMS seminars and members are entitled to claim 5 CPD points too at this time.

Code Vessel Lead appointment

announced by MCA The Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) has announced that Rob Taylor has been successful in the recent recruitment for their Code Vessel Lead to replace Bas Edmonds. Already working at the MCA, Rob has taken up his new post with immediate effect.

Rob is likely to be known to a number of IIMS Certifying Authority code examiners already. In a previous role, he worked at the RYA.

Commenting on the appointment, Gwilym Stone, Assistant Director: Ship Standards at the MCA, said “I am sure Rob is already known to most of you, either from the MCA or prior to that when he was at RYA. It is good to have someone already used to working with the Codes to take the various workstreams we have on the go forward and ensure we keep the momentum up”.
