RCD and CE marking post Brexit online seminar on 20 January 2021
There has been considerable confusion, conjecture and some concern in the run up to Brexit and the implications for the Recreational Craft Directive (RCD) and CE marking following the UK’s formal departure from the European Union at midnight on 31st December 2020.
IIMS is delighted to present ‘Recreational Craft Directive (RCD) and CE marking - what we know post Brexit so far - essential advice for surveyors’, which will be delivered by Ross Wombwell, Head of Technical Services at British Marine, who will answer your questions too. Join us on 20 January 2021 from 10.30.
Ross is perfectly placed to give an opinion and an update given he has had his around this issue and its implications for many months. He will also take questions, which can either be sent in beforehand, or asked on the day itself.
Ross joined British Marine as a Technical Executive in 2014, moving into the Technical Manager role in 2015 before being promoted to Head of Technical Services in 2018. He has worked in the marine industry since the age of 18 in various roles ranging from a Dive Vessel Coxswain in South Devon and crewing onboard tall ships including Kaskelot, Earl of Pembroke and Phoenix to an independent surveyor in the Balearics, Spain.
Ross’s role at British Marine is to represent the UK marine industry in discussions with national and international standards bodies and regulators and to provide members with comprehensive technical advice and guidance. This role includes chairing the British Standards Small Craft Committee and representing UK interests in the ISO standards development of both small craft and large yacht standards. The cost to participate in this seminar is just £35 and you can reserve your place online at
