CEO Chat (continued)

Turning to happier topics, there is still just time to reserve your place for either of the two ultimate marine surveying training events of the year. I refer to the Marine Surveying International Fest III 2020 taking place on 30 November (Large Yacht & Small Craft Marine Surveyors) - you can book your place online until 21.00 (UK time) on 29 November at https://bit.ly/30a6anf - and on 2 December we broadcast Fest III for Cargo and Commercial Ship Marine Surveyors. To reserve your place for this one go to https://bit.ly/3ctJVgO.

Pulling together 24 speakers across 2 days has been a challenge and exhausting, but I am delighted at the quality of speakers and breadth of content we have attracted for you, much of it never seen before and produced specially for this event. And remember, you can order the video content from the whole of each day for viewing later at your leisure if you cannot be present live on either day. If you want to view the schedule of all 24 presentations over both days go to https://bit.ly/2UJP506.

Editing the Report Magazine is, as I am often heard to say, one of the favourite parts of my job. Over the years the output of the publication has developed as the scope of articles has widened. The December edition, number 94, is published today and can be accessed in both pdf and eReader formats at https://bit.ly/2WQTosu. In my opinion, it is the most complete publication IIMS has published to date and, at 116 pages, sets a new record as the biggest one ever too. I hope you will find much to interest you in this edition, especially if you have some downtime over the Christmas period.

So, as we lick our collective wounds, metaphorically speaking, after one of the worst years most of us will have known and as we start to prepare for 2021, let’s hope that brighter skies lie ahead for all of us and for the world as a whole. If you celebrate Christmas, may I wish you a peaceful and safe one? But whatever your beliefs, let’s join together with positive thoughts for a progressive New Year.

Stay safe and survey well.
