Festival of Hope – Inspiring Sustainability Sunday 27 November 2016 • 12–6pm

On one special Sunday in November, the Eden Project is bringing together the leaders and mavericks of sustainability – to share and celebrate the fascinating steps they're taking towards a low-carbon, sustainable future. Expect music, art, exhibits and brilliant people,

including Sir Tim Smit, Surfers Against Sewage's Hugo Tagholm, and inspiring individuals from ethical companies Pukka Herbs, Surfdome and many more. The Festival of Hope sets out to prove that a sustainable

lifestyle and low-carbon future is one filled with joy, great designs and clever innovations. Some of Eden’s favourite movers and shakers will be

there to help attendees get involved in making a difference, including marine conservationists and campaigners Fathoms Free, Surfers Against Sewage and Cal Major (of Paddle Against Plastic 2016). There will be a chance to meet Eden's very own

catalysts of change, from the Big Lunch Extras community programme and the HotHouse business leadership courses.

Little Eden

Every Thursday, a field on the outskirts of the Eden estate is filled with shrieks, shouts and woodsmoke. Peer through the leaves and you might see the little people running around, blowing bubbles, making leaf patterns, or cooking (and occasionally burning) things over a campfire. Welcome to Little Eden! Outdoor play has always been an important part of

our ethos at Eden. It's long been recognised that children are playing less outside than they used to and that they're suffering as a result. Childhood obesity levels are rising in the UK and many children lack the opportunity to play outside and learn to appreciate nature and use their imaginations. Even in a county as wild as Cornwall, there are limited opportunities for children to play in the countryside. Little Eden is a new club for parents and carers and

their under-fives that invites them to come and play and learn together outside. No two sessions are the same, there

are games and stories, quests and treasure hunts, making and creating things, and even campfire cooking activities. To help them keep up with their under-fives there's also free tea, coffee and biscuits for the adults.

Little Eden is £7 for children of Eden Project Members (usually £7.50), and adults are free. For more details visit: www.edenproject.com/parent-toddler-club

5 Plus, film-makers and artists will be sharing

their work, including climate change photographer Ashley Cooper (Global Warming Images) and Chouette Films, with a special screening of Aghbalou: the source of water. For the foodies, Eden has invited sustainable

harvesters The Cornish Seaweed Company, food and health ambassadors from The Crunch 2016, and Cornish Edible Insects with their incredible selection of crunchy critters. This celebration is for anyone and everyone who

wants to live or work a bit more sustainably and get involved in the next big initiatives that are making a difference.

The festival is free to attend with your Membership, Eden admission ticket or Pass. There is no need to register. Join the conversation on Twitter with #ephopefest
