Member Event: Sanjeev Shankar living bridges talk Tuesday 8 November, 6.15pm

Living root bridges are found within the dense sub- tropical forest of the Indian Himalayas. Ranging from 15 to 250 feet long, they are grown by indigenous tribes and last for several centuries, offering a model for socio- ecological resilience. Sanjeev uses his training in design, science and architecture to merge traditional crafts- based knowledge with contemporary technological patterns to develop socially responsible and life- enhancing solutions. We’ve invited Sanjeev to Eden to discuss his work. He’ll be introduced by Professor Sir Ghillean Prance FRS, VMH – trustee of the Eden Project and former director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
