Botswana US$100m
This loan will help address funding gaps in the government’s Economic Resilience and Green Recovery Program that includes strengthening the crisis and pandemic response, widening social safety nets, providing small businesses with more access to finance and promoting alternative energy sources.
Côte d’Ivoire US$60m
The Northern Agro-Industrial Pole Project will support the construction and rehabilitation of the social and market infrastructure, including rural roads, healthcare centers and schools, warehouses and collection centers, as well as infrastructure relating to fisheries and livestock production.
Ghana US$20m
The Integrated Rural Development Project, phase 2 will expand socio- economic infrastructure and improve livelihoods for some 120,000 individuals across high-poverty districts selected via a demand-driven approach.
Kenya US$40m
The Development of Urban Roads in Five Counties, phase 1 will construct a 66-km road network in the north- eastern region in Wajir Country, a high-poverty area populated by 720,000 people.
Lesotho US$19m
The Regeneration of Landscapes and Livelihood (ROLL) Project will improve livelihoods and promote resource-use practices, reducing environmental degradation in more than 2,200 villages populated by some 630,000 people.
Malawi US$15m DR Congo US$25m
The Inclusive and Resilient Rural Development Program will enhance food security, nutrition and food crisis resilience by improving in a sustainable way the productivity and competitiveness of value chains for subsistence and cash crops as well as improve incomes of family farms. At least 330,000 people stand to benefit from the program.

The Dowa Town Water Supply and Sanitation Project will expand and upgrade the existing water supply system to meet current demand and expand supply.
Malawi US$0.35m
The Technical and Economic Feasibility Study for a new airport in Mzuzu City will design plans for an envisaged regional airport that will provide reliable air services in the capital city of the northern Mzuzu region (see story page 26).
Morocco US$100m
The Financial and Digital Inclusion Support Program supports the government’s reforms. These aim at mitigating the socio-economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, providing affordable financial services to households and micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises and expanding opportunities under the digital economy.
Morocco US$14.3m
The Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline Front End Engineering Design Study, phase 2 will carry out detailed evaluations of the implementation and design process for the eventual construction of the gas pipeline in order to facilitate the final investment decision. The OPEC Fund’s contribution will specifically co-finance the survey works for the northern area (Senegal–Mauritania–Morocco) of the pipeline.
