in Amsterdam. It will show- case the finest in 3D projection mapping artistic creativity and cutting-edge technology. The competition is being produced as a cooperative venture be- tween Amsterdam Light Festi- val, Integrated Systems Events (ISE) and the RAI Amsterdam. The artistic and technical challenge for five shortlisted artists will be to create a work of video art to be mapped onto the three-dimensional architec- ture of the futuristic EYE Film- museum, to be experienced from multiple viewpoints. For projection mapping artists this represents a unique challenge. The judging, led by Amsterdam Light Festival Creative Director Lennart Booij, will take place on 8 February and the winner will be announced at ISE on the morning of 9 February at a Special Showcase Event featur- ing the five finalists.

During this period, ISE at- tendees will be able to enjoy a two-hour boat cruise and din- ner from the RAI Harbour to the competition’s location in the centre of the city. The win- ning entry and those of the oth- er finalists will also be project- ed onto the EYE Filmmuseum during the Friday evening after ISE 2018 has finished.

As ever there will also be a full range of training options pro- vide by ISE co-owners CEDIA and AVIXA. These will vary from short 20-minute ‘primers’’ on their respective stands to a full day’s workshop, masterclass or conference. These will take place on the pre-show day and throughout the four days of the exhibition. Full details are now available on the ISE with pass- es available from the new, on- line ISE Ticket Shop. The ever-popular Tech Tours

Integrated Systems Events Managing Director Mike Black- man commented: “We are con- fident that ISE 2018 will be the most exciting exhibition in the show’s history. As ever, we have listened to exhibitors and attendees and spent the last six months crafting a show that will deliver an unforgettable experience. More exciting an- nouncements will be made in the weeks to come.”

Coverage of ISE 2018 in AV News

With each succeeding edition of ISE, we try to increase the depth and scope of AV News coverage, both as a service to our reader visiting the event and to our commercial part- ners exhibiting at the Show. The secret to a successful ISE is planning. With some 1200 exhibitors, giving in to the temptation to just wan- der about, chatting to a few old mates makes it extremely unlikely that you will get the most out of the Show or the best return on your invest- ment in the trip. Straight after the Christmas / New year break, exhibitors will start to confirm what

they will be showing on their booths. In the next digital and print editions of AV News, we will be running as much infor- mation as we can in the form of an ISE Show Guide. Use this early ‘heads-up’ to plan your visit to ISE 2018. We all know how hard it is to stick to a rigid agenda at the Show, so do be realistic. A meeting ev- ery 30 minutes might sound achievable in the cold light of day, but at ISE it isn’t achiev- able – it is barely enough time to fight your way through the crowds to even walk to anoth- er booth, particularly if it’s in another hall!
