HDH appoints Sharon Daley in key travel retail role Retail consultancy Harper Dennis Hobbs (HDH) has announced the appointment of Sharon Daley as a Director in its rapidly expanding travel retail division. Having held senior roles with the former


British Airports Authority (BAA) and most recently with Heathrow Airport, Daley brings ‘extensive’ travel retail experience to the firm, says HDH. As the former Senior Category


Development Manager at BAA and Heathrow, Daley was responsible for new business development, retail merchandise and space strategies for all UK airports and strategic projects. This included the original retail


merchandise plan for Heathrow Terminal 5 and its refurbishment in 2015, the new Heathrow Terminal 2, as well as the newly reconfigured Heathrow Terminal 4. Daley was also instrumental in leading the development of Heathrow’s ‘pop-up’ retail format. Her experience and understanding of the


travel retail sector has ensured the successful introduction of the first UK airport stores for brands such as Ted Baker, Paul Smith, Cath Kidston, Valentino, Saint Laurent, Rolex and Louis Vuitton.


BAC hires Gert-Jan De Graaf as new Chief Executive Officer Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has announced the appointment of Gert-Jan De Graaff (pictured centre top) as its new CEO to

lead the company from June 2018. De Graaff will replace Julieanne Alroe,


BAC’s current CEO and MD, who is retiring at the end of June 2018. She has led the airport since 2009. De Graaff, a former BAC Senior Executive,


is currently President and CEO of JFKIAT, the operator of Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Previously holding a variety of senior


positions at leading international airports including Stockholm-Arlanda in Sweden and Amsterdam Schiphol in the Netherlands, De Graaf has also served in senior executive roles at BAC, including as General Manager Commercial Services and General Manager Strategic Planning and Development (between 2007 and 2012). “The Board’s focus is on ensuring that the


company’s success continues to be derived from an airport that serves the needs of the travelling public, the aspirations of its commercial partners and the interests of the community as a whole,” said BAC Chairman, David Peever. “Gert-Jan shares these values and we


are confident that this, combined with his extensive international experience, will enable BAC to deliver on its considerable potential as a catalyst for economic growth for the city, region and nation.”
