Manila braced for new Luxe and T3 Fiesta duty free openings

uty Free Philippines (DFP) is expecting an upturn in revenue in 2018.


The state-run operator is


preparing to open two new duty free stores in Manila – one situated at Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (T3 landside arrivals Fiesta) and another downtown (Luxe Duty Free) – in time for the peak summer tourist season. The new shops aim to serve the


Philippines’ two distinct travel retail markets. The Fiesta duty free landside


shop at T3 will target mainly Filipino customers, while Luxe Duty Free in Manila’s fast growing SM Mall of Asia entertainment and tourism

depending on the fit out, and then fully open with perfume, cosmetics and fashion as well in June. “Fashion brands have to see our


shop before they can do an inspection and the designing, but it’s easier for liquor, tobacco and confectionery brands – once they have retail space measurements they can come up with their display design.”


DFP’s new Fiesta store is under


construction in vacated retail premises in T3’s landside right hand corner area, as arriving passengers exit the building, next to the terminal’s multi-storey car park. The state enterprise will open


4,700 sq m on level one of its Manila Airport T3 Fiesta store this year and then construct and open 5,800 sq m on level two of the store in 2019.
