Renew membership from £1.21 a week
The membership renewals process is under way, with 2018 bringing a range of exciting new developments for the Society for Education and Training (SET). New benefits include SET’s new
Mentoring Service (see page 26), discounted courses based on the Outstanding Teaching, Learning and Assessment National Technical Skills Programme (see story right) and subsidised end-point assessment workshops (page 6). The new Advanced Teacher
Status (ATS), available through SET, has also proved very popular with members since its launch in summer 2017. Another exciting development
currently being discussed by SET is a national practitioners’ conference. Planning is ongoing for what would be a landmark event in the further education

and training calendar. Watch this space for further details. Plans are also under way for two
new inTuition supplements later in the year: one on maths and one on English. These will be practical and inspiring publications, full of ideas and good practice. The supplements will be available to members alongside the June issue of inTuition. SET is also planning to update and modernise its branding in the spring. This follows conversations
and consultations with SET members on ways to improve the look and functionality of the SET website and its communications. To this end, you will also notice a few little design changes in your June issue of inTuition. Early bird discounts of five per cent are available for members who pay for their membership by the end of March. People who pay by Direct Debit receive a 10 per cent discount, meaning that membership can cost as little as £1.21 a week – about half the price of a cup of coffee. Renewing your membership or joining SET is simple. Go to the SET website and click the Membership drop-down menu.

Very well done to the latest candidates commended by SET for the quality of their QTLS workbooks. Since March 2017, SET reviewers and lead moderators have been
