2018 September 20 • Second Chances Farm, Sykesville • photos by Vispera Productions Second Chances Farm in Sykesville does not just give

retired T oroughbred racehorses a second chance, it gives people a second chance through the Department of Cor- rections’ Central Maryland Correctional Facility program. On September 20, the program celebrated the graduation of some of these men who completed the six-month course at the farm where they learn life skills through taking care of horses. T e men in the program are currently incarcerated and received a certifi cate of completion at the graduation. Some of these men choose to continue to work at the farm, often staying to serve as mentors to the new inmates com- ing into the program.
