WIHS Shetland Pony Steeplechase winners Mariah Smith and Knight’s Taffy


Pony jockeys get some last bit of instruction from U.S. Pony Racing’s Regina Welsh before the annual WIHS Shetland Pony Steeplechase on Thursday evening.


The 2016 Laura Pickett Memorial Trophy for sportsmanship was awarded to Daisy Fenwick, who was in Kentucky competing at the Retired Racehorse Project Makeover, thus her brother Tommy and father Peter accepted the award for her.


Washington DC native Sage Wolf, who trains with Leigh Stiter of Great Falls, MD, won the WIHS Regional Pony Hunter Finals aboard Dun Paintin’.
