T e Maryland Horse Foundation announced that the 2023 Maryland T oroughbred Career Program (MTCP) will run June 5-9, 2023. T e online application is now open and must be completed by April 21, 2023. Interviews will take place in the two weeks after the application deadline and selected participants will be notifi ed in early May. “T e Maryland T oroughbred Career Program off ers a great opportu-

On Tuesday, January 10, Marty Bass from WJZ visited the brand-
new Maryland Horse Library and Education Center, as part of his “Where’s Marty?” series. He discussed the library with Barrie Reight- ler, Cindy Deubler, and Dr. Michael J. Harrison DVM. Dick Hageman from Art at Work was also on hand to explain the silks wall, and Mary Molinaro from Reisterstown Main Street stressed the signifi cance of the library to the community.
T e Pennsylvania National Horse Show Foundation announced that
31 therapeutic riding and equine rescue programs have been named as the PNHS Foundation’s 2022 grant recipients. Each year, the PNHS Foundation makes annual grants available to
equine non-profi t organizations for charitable and educational purposes. T anks to the support of generous sponsors and the continued growth of the PNHS – a prestigious US Equestrian Heritage Competition held each October at the PA Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA – the Founda- tion was this year able to award more than $50,000 in total funding. MHC IP members Days End Farm Horse Rescue and Promise Landing Farm were among recipients in Maryland. Congratulations!

T e Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation is now waiv- ing annual reporting fees for small businesses that off er employee savings plans through Maryland$aves. T is means that employers will pay NO fees to register or maintain employee accounts. Maryland$Saves is a new program, launched last September, that
helps small businesses off er retirement benefi ts to employees though the Maryland Small Business Retirement Savings Trust. T e program cre- ates Roth IRAs for employees of covered businesses.
