Jeannette Lussi was ranked eighth on the Master Rider list for Beginner Novice. Lussi, who is from Gibson Island, finished 13th in the Master Beginner Novice Amateur division at the AECs with Rock’N Ranger and ninth in the Beginner Novice Area II Championships. Lussi also was ranked fifth on the Beginner Novice Master Amateur Rider list. Rock’N Ranger placed seventh on the Beginner Novice Horse list for 2023.

Nicole Barnett Solomon won the Na- tional Amateur Jousting Championship with Skipps March Maddness.


Fisher-Flaherty’s horse Pock- ets to be crowned National Jousting Association cham- pion for the Novice Class. Ni- cole Barnett Solomon earned the Amateur Class champi- onship riding her own Skipps March Maddness. Michaella Patrick rode her own Sally to win the Semi-Professional Class championship while Bob Enfield rode his own Paddie O’Shine to win the overall National Jousting Championship title.

Cleveland Bay Lifetime Achieve- ment Award

Garber Enters Volunteer Hall of


Fame Honors On November 7, 2023, Carolyn A. Garber, sec-


retary of the Carroll County Equestrian Council, was inducted into the Carroll County Recreation and Parks’ Volunteer Hall of Fame. Garber start- ed her volunteer journey with CCEC in 1985. She has also volunteered with both the Bear Branch and Piney Run Recreational Councils and was a member of the Carroll County Rec- reation and Parks Advisory Board from 1994- 2000 and again from 2013-2020. One of Garber’s most notable achievements


was coordinating the first National Trails Day event in 1993. Tis even garnered national at- tention and put CCEC on the map by earning the prestigious “Trail of Tomorrow” award. Tis award has only been issued to 10 organizations nationwide. Garber has since coordinated trail workdays on National Trails Day, and through- out the year, for 30 years. She is also an advo- cate for accessible multi-use trails.
