WINNER: Rebecca Lazarus (Olney) captured a typical moment in a foal’s life with her Maryland Foals winning photograph “Coming in Hot.” Te bright image of the joyfully running foal not only pleases the eye but also lifts the spirit. Te subject is Opal de Feu (Oracle de Reve x Pasture Ornament), who is owned and bred by Lorie Richards.


RUNNER UP: Amateur photographer Jean Greenlee of Trappe snapped this photo of Maryland-bred Half-Welsh colt Locust Grove Rising Tide on May 6 of this year. Te photo, titled “Safe Meeting,” was a favorite of the judges for its composition and image clarity.
